This year we celebrated Earth Day in style. Our Tipi Encampment came alive as the Manitoba Living History Society re-enacted how the Aboriginal peoples lived and the Spirit Sand Singers filled the air with their drumbeat. As well, our Sod House pioneers were home and cooking up fun. We looked to the future by encouraging people to pledge to reduce their carbon footprint on Earth with many fun activities and displays in inform and educate. We also had just good fun with Vertical Adventures’ climbing wall, dipnetting on the boardwalks, face painting, the Nature Nut answering your questions, and Aaron Burnett performing. We had record numbers attend the day, and record numbers hop on board our free transit buses. Thank you to everyone who attended!
