Snowshoe Rentals
Available daily. Explore the lakes and forests, hills and drifts in a pair of snowshoes. Sizes to fit most ages 5 and up.
$3 rental, Members FREE

Ice Fishing
Enjoy a long-time winter tradition. Ice Fishing is available on three lakes and kids 12 and under can take home their catch. Bring your own poles.
Fee: $2, Members: FREE, Ice Auger: $5/hr

Richardson rrrun Toboggan Slide
Best toboggan rrrun in Winnipeg! Kids of all ages love this ride. Toboggans available for use on site.

Cross Country Ski Trails
Our brand new ski trails are waiting for visitors. Trail head begins near the Sod House and then 5km of trails take you through the beautiful aspen parkland.
Access to trails: FREE with regular admission

Skating
Bring your own skates and glide around on Lake Devonian.

Nordic Walking
Condition your core  and get your blood pumping!
Pole rental: $2. Members: FREE. Available 364 days a year.

Sod House Pioneers
Sundays 1–4pm, year round
FREE with regular admission

7K of Forest Trails
All trails lead to FortWhyte Alive, connecting neighbourhoods throughout southwest Winnipeg. Walk the wood chipped and limestone trails winding through prairie and forest habitats.

Birding
FortWhyte Alive is a birding hot spot! Watch for seasonal migrants along the trails and at the birdfeeding stations. (download Birding Checklist here – PDF)
  


Join us for 2 O’clock Walks every Sunday & Holiday

Let your nature guide take you north to the Bison Prairie, the Tipi Encampment and the Pioneer Sod House … or south to the aspen forest for bird watching, or for a stroll on the floating boardwalks. Each walk is a new adventure!
