FITNESS IN THE FOREST: Spring Edition – SOLD OUT

The snow is melting, the birds are singing and it is time to get fit! Join physiotherapist, Jean-Francois Bérard as he leads you through a FortWhyte boot camp to get your heart pumping and the blood flowing. From branches to benches, boardwalks and rocks—learn how to use the forest to get your whole body in shape just in time for the warm weather. This six week program will progress with techniques and challenges for strength and endurance while taking advantage of working out in the great outdoors—rain or shine!

FOR KIDS: Hug-A-Tree and Survive

What do you do if you get lost in the woods? How will you be found? Hug-A-Tree and Survive is a federally funded national program aimed at children from kindergarten to grade 6 to help them stay safe if they ever get lost in the woods and in a rescue situation.

Presented by Search and Rescue Winnipeg and Search and Rescue Manitoba (SARMAN) in association with the Winnipeg Police Service Ground Search and Rescue Unit this presentation is a must for busy outdoorsy families to ensure everyone stays safe.

BOOT CAMP FOR WRITERS
It’s time to get get serious about your writing! Whip that story into shape and get your nature fix while you’re at it. Our literary trainer Jake MacDonald will diagnose your writing and get you moving in the right direction at these three full-day workshops held at the Lakeside Meeting Room next to the Buffalo Stone Café. Along with like-minded writers and a fine view of the lake for inspiration, you’ll get educated and motivated. The goal? A finished, ready-to-publish story at the end of the course!
