Always wanted to try kayaking? Introduction to kayaking is an 8 hour course for ages 12 and up. All course will be taught at the FortWhyte Adventure Site (2505 McGillivary Blvd) which has sheltered waters, a dock and sandy beach, and a fully equipped indoor teaching facility. Boats, paddles and PFDs are supplied.

Open paddle is available at the Adventure Site (2505 McGillivray Blvd) every Tuesday and Thursday evening in July and August. These evenings are supervised by the paddling pros at Mountain Equipment Co-Op, The Wilderness Supply Company and Wave Track. Bring your own boat or try one of ours.

Test your voyageur mettle in this historical adventure event! The same team that planned and ran the Spears and ‘Shoes Biathlon now present this fur-trade era challenge. Paddling, trade and negotiation, fire-lighting, and other essential coureur-de-bois skills will be put to the test during this fun, interpretive race. The team of two with the best time and haul of furs will reign as the top traders of the year!
