Canoe Basic Skills is a 4-hour course for ages 12 and up. All courses will be taught at the FortWhyte Adventure Site (2505 McGillivray Blvd) which has sheltered water, a dock and sandy beach, and fully equipped indoor teaching facility. Boats, paddles and PFDs are supplied.

FortWhyte Alive is pleased to offer a special opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren to learn about Manitoba’s natural habitats and how you can do your part in sustaining them, while participating in a variety of activities, games, and crafts. Each week will incorporate an element of biodiversity which you can add to your backyard!

2:30-4:00pm

Space: Every living thing needs a little space to call their own. The species of the day will be the American Robin who is a common visitor to our gardens and lawn space. Today’s craft is a nesting platform. Did you know robins can have up to 3 broods a year!

Have you ever felt uneasy about the idea of spending time in the great outdoors? Maybe it is time to become outdoor educated.Bring the whole family and build the skills and confidence you need to enjoy nature, whether it’s camping, snowmobiling, or a day out in the woods. Sessions include hands on practice. All materials are supplied by FortWhyte.
