Prepare to be astounded by the diversity of life on the prairies. From big to small, we have it all: bison, prairie dogs and insects – up-close and personal. Build a soil profile and take it back to class. Discover the different ways seeds travel and help a few seeds travel back to school with you.

From Farm to Fork
It’s meal time and your food is ready to be eaten...but have you ever wondered where it started and how it ended up on you plate? Is it nutritious and grown close to home? What part of the plant are you eating - the root, the leaf or the fruit? All of these questions will be answered during this school program hosted at our FortWhyte Farms. Explore the four season greenhouse and organic garden. Dig for worms and learn about farm animals. Walk away with a new respect for farming, soil, and the importance of making sustainable choices.

Cattails & Coots
Take a walk on our floating boardwalks and discover why wetlands are called the "kidneys of the planet". Marvel at the diversity of creatures that reside in wetland habitats as you dipnet for sideswimmers, water boatmen, snails and leeches. Learn the life cycles of different animals and the critical role wetlands play in their life stages.
