Mayor Sam Katz Announces $30,000 Grant to FortWhyte Farms.

This morning at a gathering of FortWhyte supporters, Mayor Sam Katz presented a cheque for $30,000 to support the work of FortWhyte Farms. "As Secretary of Urban Aboriginal Affairs, I am proud to support the FortWhyte Farms program," said Mayor Katz. "I am committed to creating meaningful opportunities for our inner-city youth to explore healthy, safe opportunities that make a positive impact on their lives."
In receiving the grant, Bill Elliott, FortWhyte’s President and CEO, said "This support from Mayor Katz is an affirmation of the important work of FortWhyte Farms and will prove invaluable as we continue to expand the program’s reach and impact in the community. FortWhyte Alive is proud to be a part of building a healthy and sustainable community for all the people of Winnipeg."
