In accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, names, addresses, or other personal information collected by FortWhyte Alive will only be used for internal purposes such as informational mailings, membership renewals and other communications, and will not be shared with any third party. You have the right to request that your name and other information not be used for any internal FortWhyte Alive marketing purposes. The FortWhyte Alive understands that the privacy and security of your personal information is important to you. We are committed to ensuring that the information you share with us is recorded accurately, retained securely, and used only according to your wishes.

WHAT During the course of our relationship we may collect some personal information. This may include your name, street and email addresses, phone and fax numbers and credit card information. We may also have a record of your purchases and donations. We sometimes have more detailed information from members, volunteers, donors and others who have been dedicated and long-term supporters of FortWhyte. This may include, for example, the names of members of their family, business addresses and special interests, or campersí medical information.

WHEN Most of this information is collected when you volunteer, take out a membership, make a donation, attend a FortWhyte camp or make a purchase in The Nature Shop. It may come to us through your phone call, mail or email, or when you come to FortWhyte.

WHY We need this information for membership renewal purposes, to fully engage you as a volunteer, to mail your charitable income tax receipt, to mail your newsletters and camp information, to contact you about changes in schedules or upcoming events, or to notify you of special offers: in short, to provide the high level of service you have come to expect from us.

WHERE Only authorized personnel have access to this information and it will not be disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected without your prior consent. Manual and technological safeguards are in place to ensure proper security.

On occasion, FortWhyte Alive may engage an outside mail-house to facilitate a special large mailing and will provide that agency with names and addresses from FortWhyteís files. FortWhyte Alive will ensure that any such agency is contractually bound to the same strict privacy controls that we use ourselves.

FortWhyte Alive is committed to assessing new technology for protecting customer information on an ongoing basis.

FortWhyte Alive provides links to some third party sites. As we do not control those sites, FortWhyte encourages users to learn about their particular privacy policies.

HOW With your consent, we will communicate with you or send you information that we believe to be of interest to you. We are also committed to ensuring that members, donors, volunteers and customers do not receive an unreasonable number of letters, emails or phone calls.
