Leave No Teacher Inside!

Teaching the students of today the importance of maintaining thriving ecosystems, reducing pollution and protecting habitats will help ensure a healthy planet for the future. That is why education for sustainable development is a priority for the Province of Manitoba. FortWhyte can help incorporate E.S.D. themes into the classrooms with new workshops for teachers. Choose from:

The Outdoor Classroom: Learning opportunities are abundant in your own schoolyard. Learn from leaders in the environmental education field the tools needed to plan a safe, educational, and fun outdoor learning experience for your students. (September–May)

Naturescape
: Bring biodiversity into your school yard! From butterfly gardens to attracting birds, this program will help during the planning process of a naturalization project, or how to use one that’s already established. (February–May)

Slow the Flow: Water is a hot topic, especially after a spring of record breaking floods. This workshop will walk teachers through our water conservation program and will help students understand the value of this seemingly endless resource with lesson plans and home activities. (September– May)

Workshops can be tailored to be half or full day programs. For information on pricing and availability email education@fortwhyte.com
