2012 Session Themes

All our camp programs follow a different, daily, nature-based program theme.
Games, crafts, outdoor activities, and interactions with FortWhyte’s unique exhibits combine to make a fun program that teaches campers about nature and culture…education follows enjoyment at FortWhyte camps!

Kinder Camp, Rabbit Rangers and EcoQuest all have their own, unique activities and programs that are adapted to be age-appropriate for their campers.

Each section will have slightly different approaches to their themes.

THEME ONE:  Nature Olympics

July 2-6, 16-20, Jul 30-Aug 3, 20-24.

The world gets together to compete and compare the fastest, strongest, and smartest this summer in London.  Competition and adaptation are facts of life in the wild every day!  Discover how animals and plants compete, and what adaptations lead to nature’s fastest, strongest, highest flying, and furthest spread species!

THEME TWO: Life in the Valley

July 9-13, July 23-27, Aug 13-17

200 years ago, A small band of setllers from Scotland arrived in the Red River Valley.  The Selkirk settlers did not knwo they were changing the course of world history forever - but they were.  Come and see our province’s history come to life, as we explore aboriginal, Metis, settler, and later Manitoban culture.

Single Day Experience Themes will be unique to each day - information will be posted soon!
