Fort Whyte’s small, sheltered lakes provide the perfect setting for teaching basic skills in canoeing, kayaking and sailing, giving students a feel for wilderness paddling or open water sailing.
All water-based courses are taught by experienced instructors and lifeguard supervision is available. We maintain low student to instructor ratios to ensure safety and individual attention. Paddling and sailing programs are an excellent enhancement to the Physical Education curriculum and are available for Grades 5 through 12.
Students will become familiar with basic equipment, strokes, and safety procedures for both paddling sports in this popular program.
