“FortWhyte has definitely helped change my lifestyle in a healthy way.”

Posted on December 17, 2019

At FortWhyte Farms we grow youth, food, and community.

In the garden and in the commercial kitchen youth learn about responsible land stewardship, food systems, and waste reduction as they build communication, teamwork, and money management skills. They are our most valuable ‘crop’ – youth who are engaged citizens and climate change leaders.

Youth like Arizona, an 18-year-old graduate from Gordon Bell High School, who gained the employable skills and experience she needed for her future.

"My experience here at FortWhyte has definitely helped change my lifestyle in a healthy way."

Arizona has adjusted her sleep schedule, going to bed earlier so she can arrive to work well-rested and on time.

“I’ve also made a list of things to do which help me manage my time better and last but not least because I have to constantly move around here a lot, it’s been allowing me to get more physically active, which I’m happy about.”

It’s your philanthropy that empowers youth to become stewards of this planet. A responsibility and opportunity we all share. If you share our belief in this generation of climate champions please give generously.
