Donor Spotlight: Tara and Adam

Posted on November 29, 2023

We don’t mean to brag but our donors are incredible.

There’s something so beautiful about creating opportunities for others and we are always blown away by the wonderful people who choose to support FortWhyte Alive and the ways they choose to do it.

Tara and Adam have been part of the FortWhyte community for years. As visitors and as attendees of our annual Harvest Supper fundraiser they have been amazing supporters.

So when they told us they were getting married and asking their guests to donate to FortWhyte Alive in lieu of a gift it was an incredibly special and humbling moment for us.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself!

Tara and Adam are young professionals living in Winnipeg and want to give back to the community. They love to spend time outdoors, in our community, and at the lake.

2. How did you learn about FortWhyte?

Growing up they both spent time at FortWhyte with our families. In 2017, Tara was fortunate to have the opportunity to work at the Farm.

3. Why did you choose to become a donor to FortWhyte?

We wanted to support a cause that we felt was generating positive change through the lives of youth in Winnipeg.

4. What is your favourite memory at FortWhyte?

We love attending the Harvest Supper each year, we have been lucky to have our extended family join as well. It is a great event, with wonderful people, eating food that is from the farm or locally sourced.

"There is a real feeling of community coming together at the supper."

5. What would you tell someone who is considering donating to FortWhyte?

There is an incredible depth of a donation to FortWhyte. Visitors experience the trails, see bison or visit an urban farm that supports youth in Winnipeg. Donations to FortWhyte provide FortWhyte the ability to continue building a vibrant community.

Congratulations Tara and Adam!
