FH&A x FWA: Bison Safari

Join Joseph Visser (photographer and curator of From Here and Away) along with Adam Kelly (adamkellyphotography.com), for an exclusive opportunity to go beyond the gates, deep into our bison prairie for your first up-close encounter with a herd of grunting, munching bison. Bring your camera and sense of adventure for this one-of-a-kind photography experience.

This workshop, like all our programming, is open to anyone, super friendly, community based, and focused on encouraging people to tap into their creative impulses and experience something fun and interesting.

Get up close and personal with these icons of the prairies – don't miss this rare opportunity to photograph and discover more about these amazing animals. The safari bus is small and space will be extremely limited. Please visit the link below to reserve your spot!

Willow Planting for Healthy Shorelines

Learn how willows can be a secret weapon in the fight against erosion. Help FortWhyte Alive plant rooted willow plugs and shoreline trees along our lakeshore.

Please bring rubber boots, and wear long pants and sleeves. Gloves, planting tools, and light refreshments provided.

At 1:30 pm, join us for a special presentation featuring Johanna Théroux of the Lake Winnipeg Indigenous Collective, who will join us to share stories of First Nations initiatives around Lake Winnipeg.

From 1-3pm kids will love weaving their very own willow crowns! Free with regular admission.

This program is free, but registration is required.  Sign up by clicking here.

This activity is not recommended for those with a previously determined high sensitivity to poison ivy. Poison ivy wash station will be available at the planting site.
