Every Saturday  1 - 3 pm

Included with general admission to FortWhyte Alive. Free for FortWhyte Alive members

Saturday, June 2 - Wild Seeds Walk - Plants rely on seeds to spread so they can sprout into new plants in other places! Seeds travel in different ways, including in the wind, on waterways, attaching to animals, or being eaten and digested! Go on a seed hunt and find different kinds of seeds along the ground or in waterways! Come back to the interpretive centre with your find, and plant them to take home and grow!

Saturday, June 9 - Kids Craft - Nature Paint Brushes - No paint brush? No problem! Make your own using natural materials you find outdoors! Start with a hike and collect 2-3 different types of leaves, grasses, mosses and other natural materials to bind to a stick. Head back to the interpretive centre to create a Vincent Van Gogh replica with your brush! Remember, leaves of 3, let it be! Keep your eyes out for poison ivy along the way.

Saturday, June 16 - Dandelion Bubbles - Dandelions are weeds, but they are also pretty neat plants! For instance, every part of the dandelion is edible, which makes it safe to put in our mouths! Head outside and pick a dandelion stem. Head back to the Interpretive Centre to grab some bubbles and make your own natural bubble blower!

Saturday, June 23 - Sink and Float - Go on an adventure through the trails, collecting different natural items you find along the way! End your walk by putting the things you found in the water of the Floating Boardwalk Trail to see if they float or sink! Suggested things to collect include sticks, rocks, leafs, sand, pine needles and pine cones!

Saturday, June 30 - Kids Craft - Leaf Art - Head out on the trail and collect some different shaped leaves. When you have a variety of leaves, create some negative space art with them in the interpretive centre! Remember, leaves of 3, let it be! Keep your eyes out for poison ivy along the way.
