Learn how willows and native plants can be a secret weapon in the fight against shoreline erosion. Help FortWhyte Alive protect our shorelines as we plant rooted willow plugs and native grasses along our lakeshore. Follow the planting session with a kid's craft, creating beautiful willow crowns.

Please bring rubber boots, and wear long pants and sleeves. Gloves and planting tools will be provided.
This activity is not recommended for those with a previously determined high sensitivity to poison ivy. Gloves and poison ivy wash station will be available at the planting site.
Check out our Willow Crown Kids Craft being hosted from 1-3pm in the Interpretive Centre Main Theatre! As always, Kids Crafts are FREE with regular admission!
