Guided Buggy Tours

See FortWhyte Alive in comfort and style on an electric buggy. Great for those with limited mobility, or those who want to learn a little more about the history of FortWhyte Alive. This program includes information on the flora and fauna of FortWhyte, as well as teaches about Manitoba’s cultural history.
Mondays in July and August

Please note that experiences at FortWhyte Alive are non-refundable

Limit of 5 seats available. Private bookings are available at other times by contacting Jessica Jarosiewicz, Public Programs Coordinator at 204-989-8355 x203 for a flat rate of $50.

Suggested for ages 5+, including adults and older adults. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Lawn Games and Marshmallows

Hit the lawn at FortWhyte and take part in some backyard classics! FortWhyte Interpreters will be out on the lawn with lawn darts, lawn bowling and giant jenga, Bring a friend and compete to win bragging rights! Before or after games, enjoy some time around a fire, roasting marshmallows. This program promotes outdoor recreation opportunities and passive outdoor leisure time.

Critter Bingo

Grab a sweep net from our Interpretive Centre and head out into the grass! Sweep away and see what different grassland critters you can find! This program is a great way to get outdoors and help develop the skill of identification.

Father’s Day BBQ

Fathers Day Celebration

Happy Father's Day! Bring your dad to celebrate with a BBQ (that he doesn't have to grill) on the back deck of the Interpretive Centre. The Buffalo Stone Cafe will be cooking up traditional picnic BBQ fare. Eat on the deck or take it to go and find a relaxing spot with a lakeside view, or out in the woods.

After lunch, be sure to take in other happenings, like giant lawn games, archery lessons, guided dipnetting and hatchet throwing too!
