Take part in various self-guided sustainability activities to help educate and connect you to the world of sustainability!
Sustainability Day – October 22:
Put sustainability into practice during Waste Reduction Week in Canada. Discover The importance of composting and how it aids in our fight against climate change. Bring in all your tough to recycle goods for Mother Earth Recycling to dispose of as well as organics for our compost!
Activities: Eco craft, Mother Earth Recycling will be on site accepting recyclables.
Composting 101 – Join us at 1pm to learn the in’s and out’s of composting and how you can start compositing at home.
Mother Earth Recycling will be accepting…
Free for recycling – Electronics (anything that plugs in, runs on batteries, or is an accessory to electronics), lightbulbs, batteries.
$10 fee per item – Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers
$15 fee per item – Mattresses, box springs, child car seats
Some examples of items being accepted include:
Computers, laptops, printers, photo copiers, fax machines, monitors, flat screens, tube TV sets, flat screen, home electronics, games, stereos, amplifiers, speakers, hairdryers, phones, and cellphones.
Small kitchen appliances like microwaves, mixers, blenders, and toasters (not refrigerators).
Vacuums, power tools, electric motors.
Car, household, and laptop batteries.
All metals and metal objects including aluminium cans.
All cables and wires.
