Wampum Belts: Belts made from shell beads; representing treaties, alliances, and covenants.

Learn how treaties were agreed upon and recorded in Indigenous cultures before Confederation and try your hand at preparing a wampum design on paper with Jason Parenteau.

Jason Parenteau has been working with FortWhyte Alive as an Indigenous cultural consultant. Jason is a respected member of the Lenape Nation in Southwestern Ontario. As the owner of Miikwan Consulting, an Indigenous Education company, he supports schools, organizations and communities through land-based activities and cultural teachings.
