Is it bird watching or birding?

You may have heard both ways but here at FortWhyte Alive, we aim to use the term birding because it better includes those who bird with other senses. When you bird, you will listen to the sounds and songs to find and identify the bird, meaning you are doing more than watching. For those who are blind or have limited vision, they may only bird in this way.

Learn how you can make birding accessible and inclusive at Birdability.org.
