Interested in volunteering as a camp counsellor?

Nature Day Camp Counsellor applications for summer 2026 open in April. Applicants must be 14 years old, or turning 14 during camp, to apply.

Camps for all ages

KINDER CAMP

Kinder Camp is the perfect introduction to a summer camp experience for preschool children. Each day, campers will explore a new nature theme through hikes, crafts, and games. Children must be able to use the bathroom independently and be able to participate in full-day programming. New as of 20025: Kinder Campers will participate in swimming.

Age: 4 – 5 years old (must be 4 years old at camp start date)

Cost: Full weeks: $255 non-members; $235 members

4-day week: $235 non-members; $215 members

2-day week: $120 non-members; $110 members

Drop Off/Pick Up Location: Richardson Interpretive Centre

RABBIT RANGERS

Rabbit Rangers provides full days of nature-based fun for kids entering grades one and two. Swimming, games, and arts and crafts are a part of each session. We’ll go on a voyageur canoe ride each week (weather permitting).

Age: Entering grades 1 and 2 in September 2026

Cost: $265 non-members; $245 members

4-day week: $245 non-members; $225 members

2-day week: $120 non-members; $110 members

BISON BUDDIES – New this year!

Campers entering grades three and four get a taste of adventure, along with our regular roster of nature-based program themes. Activities such as swimming, canoeing, and crafts are included in each session.

Age: Entering grades 3 to 4 in September 2026

Cost: $265 non-members; $245 members

4-day Camp week: $245 non-members; $225 members

2-day week: $120 non-members; $110 members

ECOQUEST

Campers entering grades five and six get a taste of adventure, along with our regular roster of nature-based program themes. Activities such as swimming, canoeing, and crafts are included in each session.

FOX BAY

Adventure awaits! Kids entering grades seven and eight use mountain bikes on FortWhyte’s trails, explore tipis, canoe, and kayak, and learn the importance of local ecosystems. Campers will learn enhanced paddling techniques and wilderness survival skills. Please note that all campers registering for Fox Bay must be able to ride a bike.

Age: Entering grades 7 to 8 in September 2026

Cost: $300 non-members; $280 members

4-day Camp week: $285 non-members; $265 members

2-day week: $155 non-members; $140 members

Drop off

Time: 8:00 – 9:00 am

PLEASE NOTE: If families of campers would like to stay and tour the Interpretive Centre, general admission applies.

To reach the Richardson Interpretive Centre, please pass through the Alloway Reception Centre and continue to the next building.

The FortWhyte Nature Shop and the Buffalo Stone Cafe will be open at 9:00 am.

Pick up

Time:  4:00 – 5:00 pm

Late Pick-Up Policy: Train traffic is common near FortWhyte Alive. Please factor this in when planning your route for camp pick up. Families will be charged a late fee of $10 for each 15-minute increment after 5:00 pm.

What to Bring to Camp

  • One garbage-less lunch (nut and peanut-free) that does not require a microwave
  • Two garbage-less snacks (nut and peanut-free)
  • Rubber boots/winter boots
  • An extra pair of socks, long pants
  • Extra layer (sweater or fleece top)
  • Warm jacket, outer shell pants, light mittens, toque, neck warmer (Spring/Winter)
  • Change of clothes
  • Insect repellent & sunscreen
