With over 40 yogis in attendance, FortWhyte Alive's second annual Fire + Ice Yoga festival on Saturday, February 3 was a uniquely Winnipeg outdoor yoga experience!
This very cool practice was lead by Lululemon Ambassador and Creator of Wildpath, Ash Bourgeois. Doors opened at 11am, with the yoga session beginning at 11:30am on FortWhyte's frozen lake. Participants enjoyed a fun and interactive yoga experience in frigid temperatures, and took in the occasional wildlife sighting after practice during snowshoe hikes and exploring FortWhyte!
After practice, participants got to enjoy wildcrafted tea over the fire courtesy of our sponsor, Hollow Reed Holistics. We enjoyed gooey s'mores, an indoor wild tea blend craft, snowshoe adventures and tobogganing down our Richardson Run.
Big thanks to all our volunteers for taking the time out of their day to make this magic happen. A big thanks also goes out to all the registrants for purchasing tickets to this event, which benefits FortWhyte Alive's environmental education programming.
More exciting adventures are on the horizon in the next coming weeks, so be sure to check back at our Events Calendar for upcoming events and programs!
