Connect your students with their natural surroundings, each other, and the wider world!
Working with school educators, a FortWhyte Alive Educator develops custom outdoor-inquiry-based learning programs for you and your students. Deeper Connections programming happens in natural spaces both at FortWhyte and at or around your school. Teachers and students learn about the local ecology, developing a stronger sense of community, in the places they can visit easily, again and again.
Deeper Connections is about more than just programming. Along with outdoor experiential learning, a working relationship is built between teachers, students, and FortWhyte Alive staff. Past participants say this leads to greater confidence is planning school outdoor learning, knowing where to turn for answers about the natural world, and a new willingness to look at different ways of using the outdoors a learning space. Ongoing support and ideas from FortWhyte flow to your school, helping outdoor learning grow.
Deeper Connections builds on what you have in your community. Any outdoor setting offers places to learn and grow together!
“All the classes LOVED our activities yesterday. Positive feedback all around and we can’t wait to try our hand at our own weather forecasting.”
