Walk on the Wild Side
Discover natural systems within Manitoba by investigating plants and animals in a variety of habitats. Lead your students on explorations and discoveries through forests, wetlands, lakeshores, and grasslands.
Our Prairie Past
Step back in time to when the bison roamed the prairies! Experience the connection between the people of Manitoba’s past and our prairie ecosystem. Visit the sod house, tipi encampment, and bison herd.
Available from January 11th-March 16th. Delve into the frozen world as you compare and contrast the properties of snow and ice as you investigate the importance of water to all living things. Take a closer look at snowflakes from different layers of a drift and learn about their fascinating formations.
Super Self-Guided Orienteering!
Discover the thrill of exploring by orienteering! An extensive pre-visit kit, and an introduction by a FortWhyte Alive staff person, will allow you to maximize the fun and learning for your class using a permanent orienteering course.
Your kit will include maps and keys, an in-depth explanation of how to use the orienteering map and the rules of orienteering at FortWhyte Alive, and background information on the sport of orienteering.
