Gold Stars For 2015-16
FortWhyte Alive congratulates all staff and students who are taking their learning outside, and working hard to create greener schoolyards in Manitoba.
- Maples Collegiate Science Department: for making investigation of biodiversity on school grounds a major theme and integral part of Grade 10 science;
- Dakota Collegiate Foods Program: for partnering with FortWhyte Alive through Outdoor Educator to enhance their use of local wild foods with a traditional Indigenous context;
- F.W. Gilbert School, Pinawa, MB: For making radical changes to the way the school day is structured to allow for more time learning outdoors;
- Frontier School Division: For incorporating ESD goals across the curriculumin northern and rural Manitoba, and a divisional emphasis on connecting students to the land they live on.
