Forest School: Spring 2018 Session and Information

Did you know the average child spends more than 7 hours per day in front of a screen? Researchers believe that this has contributed to increased rates of both childhood obesity and prescriptions for childhood mental health problems (like ADHD).

It's time to move away from screen time, and try some green time.

The benefits of giving your child the gift of regular and repeated experiences in nature are numerous and overwhelmingly positive. With the natural environment as a our guide, FortWhyte Alive's Forest School offers child-directed, emergent and inquiry-based learning all under the guidance of a Forest School Practitioner.
