At FortWhyte Farms, we grow food with heart — and with our environment and community in mind.
FortWhyte Farms is a pretty special place. Not only are we the only farm where you can visit our heritage breed pigs, chickens, rabbits and beehives when you come to pick up your food, we are also an educational farm that uses sustainable agriculture as a platform to build leadership skills and provide employment training for local youth.
That means when you purchase a CSA share, you’re supporting youth in your community. You’re also part of a group of conscious eaters who want good, fresh food, and to make a powerful investment in the local economy. All dollars brought in from The Goods are kept in Manitoba, supporting an essential community social enterprise.

STAYING SAFE
During this time of uncertainty, we want to ensure you still have access to healthy, fresh and local food. Your health and safety are our top priorities. Every vegetable and herb is handled with care, and is harvested, washed, and packed within hours of pick-up.
What precautions is FortWhyte Farms taking to ensure food is safe?
As our public health situation continues to evolve, we are taking extra steps to implement precautions and procedures recommended by Health Canada. This includes increasing our cleaning/disinfecting protocols to focus on common high-touch surfaces to help prevent the spread of communicable illnesses and reducing contact between staff and visitors.
Will I still be able to come and pick up my food?
Yes! In order to ensure health and safety for our staff and customers, we have instituted a number of changes for CSA pick-up:
- CSA bins will be pre-sorted and available for pick-up on the front porch of the farm.
- We ask that customers bring their own personal reusable bags and personally transfer items from our bins into their bags.
- Bins will be sanitized with a bleach solution between each use.
- Staff assisting with the pick up will be wearing gloves and a mask.
- We strongly encourage all customers to wash the product again before consuming it.

From all of us here at the farm, THANK YOU for your support. Every dollar from The Goods stays right here in Manitoba to support sustainable agriculture and youth programs at FortWhyte Farms.
