FortWhyte Golf Classic 2020 Recap

Posted on September 30, 2020

On September 2, we celebrated the life of community builder and FortWhyte trustee, Sam Fabro, the best way we know how – with a round of golf!

A golf cart drives down the path between lush green grass.

This marked the 26th Annual Golf Tournament, and by safely navigating the challenges of covid-19, we were able to welcome 25 teams for some socially-distanced fun. With a reduced cap on the attendee list and a revamped format, this year held a lot of unknowns but the result was overwhelmingly positive. We are so grateful to everyone who came out as well as those who were there in spirit.  The rain held off just long enough for all teams to enjoy a full course of excitement – from the putting contest, raffles, and snacks!

Thanks to our generous sponsors and fantastic golfers we raised an overwhelming $47,000 in support of environmental education at FortWhyte Alive.

Gift tote from FortWhyte given to golfers, including golf balls, a family pass to FWA, a jar of honey, etc.

We can’t thank our wonderful sponsors enough for their continued support. They are a part of a growing community of leaders who are passionate about making real change, and we are very pleased to have them on our team.
