You keep asking for it, and we are happy to host! For the 4th year in a row, FortWhyte Alive hosted its wildest party of the year, The Lake Shaker, on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
With beautifully mild temperatures, 300 people flooded our site to help us celebrate all things winter! A sell-out event once again, the Lake Shaker raised over $7,000 in support of environmental education programming at FortWhyte Alive. Thank you to our sponsors, attendees, and volunteers for being a part of this memorable evening.
Our thanks to our Fireside Bar Sponsor, Half Pints Brewing Company, and to our Ice Bar Sponsor, Capital K Distillery. The cold brews and icy cocktails were a great treat for all guests in attendance.
Thanks to the crew from the Buffalo Stone Café by Diversity Foods for whipping up some delicious food and treats for all to enjoy!
Thank you to all of our wonderful prize and grab bag sponsors who donated some incredible goods! Thanks to Coal and Canary, Jugo Juice - Seasons of Tuxedo, Wilder Goods, True North Wilds, The Village Idiots, GORP Clean Energy Bars, Fiber + Wood, Farmery Estate Brewery, Yardzee Manitoba, Flora & Farmer, Wild Woods Hide Away, Paw + Leaf, Gold Bone Broth, Winnipeg Pass, Huron Woodwork, and Friends of Lower Fort Garry, we were able to raise a record $1,275 on raffle ticket sales alone!
Thank you to our many facilitators who came down to FortWhyte to offer up some cool activities and entertainment, including Cloverdale Forge, Becky Thiessen, Deadshot Photography, Maple Leaf Survival, The Brew School – Savour Winnipeg, Riel Gentleman's Choir, DJ’s Ack & Quack (of Eat Em Up Records) and DJ Lil Win.
A huge thank you goes out to all of the wonderful FortWhyte Alive volunteers for dedicating their time to ensure fun was had by all!
And another huge thank you goes out to all of YOU that came out, played in the snow, and danced all in the name of environmental education.
The smell of bonfire may have subsided, but memories of this wild fundraiser will stick around for years to come. Meet us at the Great Escape 2018 to relive some of the good times?
