FortWhyte Alive is a place for runners, in every season. Explore FWA's 7km of forested trails, take a trail running class or participate in one of FortWhyte Alive's signature half-marathon races.
FortWhyte Alive for Runners
Use your headlight to lead the way through the forests and trails of FortWhyte Alive during this late night 5 and 10k fun run, which takes place twice annually (in June and October). Prizes to our top male and female finishers. Enjoy beverages, smokies and s’mores by the fire after the run!

Join us for a 5/10k run through the woods of FortWhyte by night, guided by nothing but sheer terror (and a headlamp!). Survive this spooky sprint and be rewarded with free smokies and s’mores by a bonfire. Cash bar. Costumes are encouraged!
Every participant that registers will receive an LED headlight to light their way. The headlight allows runners to enjoy a safer night run experience. For this reason, all participants are required to wear their headlight during the race. This race is a timed event.
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
