Be sure to visit Buffalo Crossing to engage with our partners at Climate Change Connection and check out their youth video challenge with CBC Manitoba. Visitors are invited to watch the videos in the afternoon, enjoy some popcorn, and have a fun and informative Earth Day experience.
While you’re on-site, stop by FortWhyte Farms, which will be open for the day with the market running and farm tours available – an excellent opportunity to explore local food and sustainable agriculture in action.

10 am- Sarah Warrack, IISD-ELA
Sarah Warrack has researched microplastics in fish, lakes and rivers in Manitoba. Canada, as well as microplastic behaviour. She has been a teacher for 10 years both overseas, and in Canada. Sarah is currently the Education and Relations Manager for the International Institute for Sustainable Development- Experimental Lakes Area, where she creates scientific content for teachers, youth and the general public. Sarah also develops programs for youth in our local communities.
11 am- Climate Action Team MB
Climate Action Team Manitoba (CAT) is a coalition of environmental organizations in Manitoba working together to envision, investigate, and promote a road to climate resilience in our province. Our work aims to advance climate solutions through policy research, organizing, coalition building, and creative communications.
12 pm- FortWhyte Alive Sustainability talks Composting
FortWhyte will share information about composting in Winnipeg and tips and tricks on how to compost in your own home.
1pm- Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre: Meet the Ambassadors
The education team from Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is equipped with supplies, enthusiasm and passion for a jam-packed one-hour presentation consisting of exciting demonstrations, with the help of wildlife ambassadors, and hands-on activities. By the end of the presentation, you will have developed an excitement and awareness for the natural world and your role within it

The Manitoba Fly Fishers Association is a not-for-profit association dedicated to providing its members with support and information on fly fishing and promoting leading conservation practices for healthy fisheries and fishing habitat.
The MFFA is a member-driven association that welcomes and respects all levels of skill from beginner to expert, is generous with knowledge and time, and advocates for healthy fisheries.
