Wildlife Watching

From migratory birds to our resident bison herd, you are bound to spot an array of wildlife when you visit FortWhyte Alive.

Meaningful wildlife watching experiences

Whether it’s our bison herd viewable on our North Trail system or seasonal sightings of migratory birds, there is always the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the wildlife that call our site home. An adventure through the trails will lead you through four diverse habitats; try to spot White-tailed deer in the forest, watch our herd of majestic bison rove across their prairie grassland, listen to the migratory birds flit about the lakes and see if you can spot the final few basking turtles before winter.
