Another harvest has come and gone and once again we are honoured and humbled by your generous support of FortWhyte Farms at the annual Harvest Supper, presented by The WolfStrata Group!
Thank you for celebrating youth, food and community with us and helping us raise over $20,000!
Because of your generous support…
hundreds of students will spend time at the farm learning about agriculture and the environment,
dozens of youth will get hands-on employment training,
and countless people will have access to fresh, healthy food grown in their own community!
Throughout the evening guests enjoyed food and drinks, bid on prizes, listened to the music of Walker Rambo, took farm tours with the youth staff, sat around campfires, and played a variety of games like guess how many, what’s in this box?, beet toss, and – a Harvest Supper classic – chicken poop bingo, all for a chance to win the best prize there is… A BROWNIE!
Guests were also treated to an extra special performance this year. Viola, one of the youth staff from this summer, performed Fancy Dance alongside her father who played the drum.
Thank you to knowledge keeper Jason Parenteau for offering a blessing, sharing some kind words and insights, and some jokes!
Thank you to this summer’s youth staff who returned to run games, provide farm tours, and speak on stage about their experiences at the farm!
Thank you to Chef Dustin and the team at Loaf and Honey Catering for creating a delicious menu that showcased the food of FortWhyte Farms so well for the second year in a row! Your ability to create and adapt the menu based on what’s growing in the fields is greatly appreciated!
Thank you to CBC Manitoba who helped promote the event and lent us our host for the evening, Marjorie Dowhos, and John Sauder who broadcast the evening’s weather segment from the farm, right beside chicken poop bingo, and interviewed FortWhyte Alive’s very own Liz Wilson.
Thank you to the generous sponsors who helped make this event possible!
