All Experiences

Discover what kinds of critters are living in the water just below the surface. This family favourite experience is fun and educational.

Family dipnetting at FortWhyte Alive.

What can you find?

Dipnetting on our boardwalk marshes is a fun learning experience for children and adults alike. This hands-on activity encourages exploration to help connect with even the smallest of creatures. Dipnetting develops a child’s sense of the natural world, creates a deeper understanding of different ecosystems, and provides a new perspective on nature.

Find something interesting? Get an up-close look of your discovery using the microscope in our Interpretive Centre.

Access to our boardwalk trails and dipnets are included with general admission and is free for FortWhyte Alive members.

This experience is offered in spring, summer, and fall
